Today was my first trip to Guapos of Shirlington, Virginia. It will not be my last! Immediately when me and my family arrived, the host and staff were very friendly and welcoming. On this busy Saturday, the wait to be seated was not long. I noticed how clean and how well decorated the restaurant was..the atmosphere was great! As soon as we got seated, chips and salsa were brought out. The chips were still warm and delicious! I ordered a seafood dish...so good!! My wife and daughter were very pleased also. I highly recommend this place for a great time with fantastic food!

Usually, it's pretty good. The guacamole is good but very expensive for what you get. We've been thrice in the last few months and first 2 times were good, last time pretty bad. Service is usually on point

The food was great, service extraordinary and the environment amazing! 100% would recommend it

I used to think most Tex-mex restaurants were more or less the same, but Guapo's proved me wrong! The place is huge and has plenty of seating -- including outdoors -- but the place gets packed, particularly on weekends. Every table is assigned at least 2 staff members, and you'll notice that the restaurant seemingly always has tons of staff, so service is very attentive! This business is very serious about their level of service and food because there is always a table with members of management seemingly taste testing dishes, sending them back, receiving tweaked versions of the same dishes to provide additional feedback on, etc. The food of course is incredible. We've had their guacamole, taco salad, chimichanga ... all delicious, and nothing tasted run-of-the-mill. And others seem to love this place and come by to celebrate big life milestones. For example, the first time I dined here, I observed no fewer than 6 birthday celebrations! Definitely one of my favorite-ever Tex-mex restaurants.

One of my favorite Mexican places in the DMV. The Vibes are strong. Music in the air. You can sit outside on a nice breezy day. We started with taquitos as an appetizer. They were fresh and the meat was braised in some beautiful sauce. The chips and salsa was great as well they come complimentary. Our food came out fast and fresh. My chimichanga was lightly fried and the beans and rice were hitting. My friend enjoyed her steak quesadilla which was tender and well seasoned. High quality meat. Churros was the best part. The Dulce de leche was heavenly with the warm churros. We were stuffed and satisfied.

My first time at Guapo's was underwhelming but my second time was really really good! Guapo's has such a fun environment! It's really loud inside from what I've experienced but the outside isn't so loud in comparison. If you come during peak hours be prepared to wait a little bit but it's worth it. Really enjoyed my time. I'll be back!

Came here earlier for Cinco de Mayo with my boyfriend. It was crowded!!! We were told that it would be an hour wait, so we asked to be seated at the bar. As we were walking to the bar, a waitress approached us and asked if we were looking for seating because there was additional seating outside. We were excited because it meant we wouldn't have to wait. She sat us outside, and shortly after we had fresh tortilla chips with two types of salsa handed to us. It was great! The menu is pretty standard for Mexican food with traditional options. I got combo chicken and steak fajitas with a passion fruit margarita. My boyfriend got pollo saltado. The food came out pretty quickly and it was piping hot!! It was so tasty. I really enjoyed it. Our server was great. He was manning the back section outside and didn't miss a beat. He refilled our waters, checked in, and seemed very positive despite all the noise going on. I would definitely come back here again and recommend!

This was our first time! We waited an hour to be seated but heard some many great things we waited it out. We ordered the Guapos Sampler with bacon wrapped shrimp, steak and chicken. It come out on a sizzle plate with 3 tortillas. We also added the guacamole with bacon. Signature salsa and chips were included. Hubby has the original margarita I had strawberry margarita with sugar. I also ordered the steak and chicken quesadilla. Ambiance was cool. Loud in the bar but quieter in the main room . Would we return? Yes we loved the bacon wrapped shrimp, drinks and service Price point- decent Definitely worth the drive from Maryland

4/23/24 7 PM TUESDAY This place is PACKED, PACKED, PACKED! A friend recommended this place so I had high expectations. Beautiful venue. The dishes spoke for themselves, so I want to give a particular SHOUT OUT to the employees! I was impressed with the staff. They were a TEAM. The waiters on the floor helped each other and if we asked for something never said, " Let me get your waiter". We were seated immediately, the waitress took our order, and we didn't really wait too long for our meals. The dishes were warm and not COLD....which can sometimes happen when it's busy. They were attentive throughout our meal. It's been awhile since we've been able to experience great service! Customers with pets were seated outside on the lanai. Excited to return again!!

Loveeeee the free chips and salsa. And the two types of salsa they bring you. Came here for a quick lunch with colleagues. We ordered guacamole - it was freaking delicious. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, too. While not the best I've ever had, they had good flavor. The rice was really good, too. Beans not so much, but I have high standards. The ambiance was pretty standard for a local Mexican spot. The service was great - they were super attentive. Will be back for sure.
